Quilters Dream Batting began in 1995 with one simple idea:
Quilters deserve batting as beautiful and reliable as the quilts they create.
From day one, we chose a different path, using only the highest-quality fibers, thoughtful engineering, and hands-on inspection to make batting that feels soft, quilts smoothly, and stands the test of time. Every batt is proudly made in the USA, hand-cut, and individually inspected so you can trust what goes into your quilted treasure.
Our Story
At our very first Spring Market in Charlotte in the mid-1990s, we introduced a new kind of 100% cotton batting. It was cleaner, smoother, and more consistent than anything on the shelves at the time.
A well-known teacher picked it up, squeezed it, and said,
“This just quilts like a dream.”
That moment shaped our name and our mission.
Word spread quickly among quilt shops, longarmers, teachers, and guilds. Quilters were ready for batting that didn’t beard, bunch, stretch, or fight them at the machine. Their excitement fueled our growth, and it still inspires us today.

Today, Quilters Dream offers 10 unique battings, each designed to complement your style, fiber preference, and quilting method:
- Quilters Dream Cotton – 100% cotton batting with no scrim, glues, or binders
- Quilters Dream Poly – wonderful soft denier microfibers. You won’t believe it is polyester!
- Quilters Dream Angel – heavenly batting made 100% from flame retardant fibers
- Dream Blend for Machines – 70% cotton and 30% poly microfibers needle punched through an ultralight scrim base
- Quilters Dream Wool – shearly beautiful soft and luxurious wool batting
- Quilters Dream Puff – light as a feather, yet warmer than down with 1/3-1/2” of loft
- Quilters Dream Green – wonderful polyester batting made 100% from recycled plastic bottles
- Quilters Dream Bamboo – luxurious blend of silk, bamboo, cotton, and Tencel
- Quilters Dream 80/20 – beautiful blend of 80% cotton and 20% fine denier polyester
- Quilters Dream Fusible 80/20 – soft, smooth, & consistent; a unique approach to fusible batting
